Presentation
Located in the heart of the commune's old town, Villeveyrac's Protestant temple was built between 1856 and 1860 by architect Pierre Arribat. Its octagonal plan, exceptional in the region, illustrates the rise of Protestantism in the 19th century. It is distinguished by its centered volume, neoclassical façade and surviving original furnishings. After the roof collapsed in 1914, it was restored in 1916. The building still retains its pulpit, rostrum and precious harmonium, testimony to local Reformed fervour. Desecrated but still emblematic of the local heritage, it remains a landmark in the heart of the commune.
