Set on a hillside between pine trees and artists? studios, the garden of the École des Beaux-Arts de Sète reveals a world apart, suspended between nature and creation. Here, landscape becomes matter, plant life dialogues with the imaginary, and each pathway seems to tell a story.
Conceived as a sensitive journey, the garden extends over almost 7,000 m² around the 19th-century villa that houses the school. It invites you to discover four poetic universes: the cool shade of the Bois, the exotic luxuriance of the Isle of Cythera, the luminous softness of Arcadia, and the gourmet fragrances of the fruit alley. Between these ambiances, glades sometimes host workshops, ephemeral works or simple contemplative pauses.
Designed in collaboration with the Coloco collective and Gilles Clément, this site combines art, botany and heritage in a resolutely contemporary approach. Each season offers a new experience: a play of light in the foliage, an open-air exhibition, a chance encounter with an artist at work.
A haven of greenery and inspiration, the Ecole des Beaux-Arts garden is now a must for anyone wishing to explore the creative soul of Sète, where nature becomes an open-air studio.
