Wine, muscat and vermouth
Starting your trip with an excursion to the heart of the vineyard, the oldest and largest in France, is an ideal introduction to any stay. From the foothills of the Gardiole to the shores of the Thau Lagoon and the Mediterranean, every path is worth the detour, every encounter is memorable.
The new winegrowers play the quality card and will open the door of their estates for a tasting session. Muscats from the Frontignan or Mireval appellations, Picpoul de Pinet (so welcome with a platter of shellfish), refreshing white wines, sun-drenched reds, will happily accompany your gourmet escapades.
Among the unmissable, the Maison Noilly Prat, on the port of Marseillan, offers a guided tour of this unique place where the first French vermouth is made. You will appreciate the beauty of the place as well as the quality of this beverage (James Bond's favourite), which you can even taste by concocting your own cocktail. Muscat lovers will not miss a visit to a specialised cellar, paying homage to Rabelais who used to come to the heart of the Thau archipelago to savour this delicate nectar.
Discover without further ado the producers who make the reputation of our territory!
